Your Eye & what could happened to that

Many people often describe your eyes worked similar to camera in the recent technology. In the camera, light passes all the way through a lens system back onto the film. Your eyes consist of cornea and lenses at the front (anterior chamber) that act as a lens system and retina at the back (posterior chamber) that work as a film. Clear image is produced by the light rays of an object that go throughout to cornea and lens and are focused directly on the retina.

But one of these conditions could happen to your eyes:

1. Can only see object clearly at the close/ short distance

This condition is called Myopia (Nearsightedness). What happened is that the light rays are passed through the cornea and lens but the point at which they converge (focus) is in front of the retina, not on the retina. To correct this condition there is 2 options, first non surgical and second surgical treatment. Non- surgical treatment options for myopia include glasses and contact lenses. Surgical treatment is divided into two laser and non laser eye surgery. Surgical treatment options include ALK, clear lens extraction, LASEK, LASIK, LASEK, phakic IOL and RK. Before they do the treatment they should review in detail with their physicians to choose which treatment is the best one for patient’s eye condition because not all individuals are good candidates for specific procedures.

2. Can only see object clearly at a long distance/ far away.

This condition is called Hyperopia (Farsightedness). In a hyperopic eye, the light rays do not meet or focus by the time they reach the retina. Hyperopic patients can focus on more distant objects, but not images that are close at hand. To correct this condition there is two options non surgical and surgical treatment which is basically almost the same with number one above.

3. Astigmatism

With astigmatism, the rays of light do not meet into a single point but form a line on the retina. There are three types of astigmatism included regular, mixed and irregular astigmatism. Currently, Laser Eye Surgery in the US is approved for treatment of regular and mixed astigmatism. Latest advances in technology now allow for the therapeutic treatment of induced irregular astigmatism. In the future, this application may be expanded to take account of all types of irregular astigmatism.

4. Presbyopia

Presbyopia affects people as they come into their 40s. Caused by changes within the eye's crystalline lens as one ages, presbyopia affects everybody, and sooner or later everyone will need to put on reading glasses or bifocals. Presbyopia is not affected by the laser eye surgery.

Why should you choose an Ultralase to perform your eye surgery?

Yeah, why should you choose ultralase clinics to correct your vision by laser eye surgery? You should know there are many eye clinics out there in UK. They also offer many treatments to correct your vision.

Actually many reason but some of them can be figured out here:

1. Experience. Ultralase has performed for over 130000 laser eye surgeries (means more than 700 surgeries per months). Ultralase has been performing laser eye surgery since 1991 and identify that patients from these early days still have great unaided vision today. Although Laser eye surgery is a very safe and highly effective treatment, it still needs an experience & trained personnel.

2. Equipment. Ultralase is the only national clinic group in the UK to invest in lasers solely by Bausch & Lomb and we were the first in the UK to install the state-of-the-art Bausch & Lomb Zyoptix Z100 laser system. The Z100, which features unique Iris Recognition, wavefront capability and rapid reaction rapid, multi-dimensional eye-tracking, has been designed specifically for safety and accuracy. No other national provider in UK offers such leading-edge technology at all of its clinic locations. Lasers also operate at a faster rate, shortening time of treatment. Customized treatments. Faster. Safer. More accurate.

3. Interest free and easy payment option. As someone who's seriously considering laser eye surgery, you will already have been thinking about the advantages it can offer over the daily hassle of glasses and contact lenses. Replacement glasses aren't cheap. And, if you're a contact lens wearer, you'll know only too well about the ongoing expense of replacement lenses. When daily disposables can typically cost over £30 per month, month in - month out; year in - year out, the cost can very quickly mount up. Ultralase offers a number of easy payment options to help you spread the cost of our range of laser eye treatments (terms and condition apply).

4. Free consultation. An Ultralase laser eye consultation, which is free of charge, is so much more than a routine eye test. At consultation, you will see one of Ultralase fully qualified optometrists, who specialize in the assessment of patients for laser eye surgery. Ultralase use the latest equipment to find out whether someone could be suitable for laser eye treatment or not. Besides checking the health of your eyes, Ultralase will give the patients a completely personalized treatment plan, which summarizes the recommendation of which of Ultralase specialist treatments could be right for them.

5. Nation network of clinics. At previous post you can find ultralase clinics all over UK. But that's not all. Unique to Ultralase is Ultra-EyeCare™ - a nationwide network of over 500 independent Ultralase-accredited opticians, who have been specially trained to undertake Ultralase aftercare (post operative) appointments. This means that you can complete your aftercare at a location that's nearer to where you live.

6. Audited results. In 2003, Ultralase became the earliest laser eye provider in the UK to have its treatment outcomes and improvement rates verified by independent audit. Other clinics are yet to propose their data for analysis.
